The race’s final field was released Wednesday with six nominees failing to declare including headliners Cool Trade and Antique Belle, who is running in the Group 3 AJ Scahill Stakes (1400m) instead.

Miss Rose De Lago is the sole 59kg top weight left in the 2014 Jungle Dawn Classic, however the four-year-old mare will get a good start from barrier two with champion hoop Tommy Berry in the saddle.

The Simon A Miller-trained mare was runner-up in the Group 3 Northerly Stakes (1400m) on October 18 before missing out on a placing in both the Group 3 RJ Peters Stakes (1500m) and Listed Carbine Club of WA Stakes (1400m).

While Rose De Lago carried 60kg to finish second place in a Benchmark 66 in September, the mare will have to adjust to her weight of 59kg after running between 54kg and 56.5kg her last four times out.

Every other runner will carry the minimum weight of 55kg, including Zonte who will jump from barrier one. The David Harrison-trained mare has scored the inside run with Steven Parnham to ride.

Justin Warwick will deliver a dual-pronged attack on the 2014 Jungle Dawn Classic after accepting with both Oakhurst Flyer and Songburg.

Songburg won a Benchmark 66 back in May but failed to win any of her next four starts or two barrier trials. The mare will get a good start from barrier three while Oakurst Flyer will have to overcome a start from the widest gate. The six-year-old enjoyed nine consecutive first three finishes from August to October but finished third last in her last run. After 13 career starts, this will be the mare’s first black-type race.

Neville Parnham’s Vital Importance will jump from barrier seven with Chris Parnham to ride while Grant WilliamsArcadia Rose will start beside her in barrier six with Brad Parnham in the saddle.
