Ten potential stayers are set to contest the race, with half the field offering single figure odds in the betting market at Ladbrokes.com.au.

The John O’Shea-trained Malice is the $3.70 favourite, set to jump from barrier one with Sam Clipperton in the saddle.

Midsummer Sun and Beyond Thankful share the second line of betting at $4.80, followed by Metaphorical ($5.50) and Gallatin ($8.50).

Will the favourite be able to hold off his rivals and take home the $60,000 winning prize money? Check out our betting tips for the 2014 ATC Cup below and you’ll be confidently backing the winner in no time.

#4 Malice ($3.70)

You can’t go past the favourite in the ATC Cup. The better of two horses saddled by John O’Shea in the race, Malice will jump from barrier one with Sam Clipperton in the saddle carrying the minimum weight of 54kg. This is the same weight he has carried his last four times out. The four-year-old gelding won a handicap over 1900m last time out over the same track, beating home four of his ATC Cup rivals.

#7 Metaphorical ($5.50)

Peter Moody’s four-year-old is one of two mare’s taking on the boys in the ATC Cup. She finished midfield in the Group 3 Ladies Day Vase (1600m) at Caulfield on October 15 but was just four and a half lengths off the winner. She turned her form around her last two times out however, finishing second in a benchmark 78 over the mile at Moonee Valley when carrying 60kg before winning the Ranvet Handicap over 2040m nearly three lengths clear of Silk And Diamonds on November 14 again carrying the top weight of 60kg. She will enjoy a six kilo weight drop on Saturday as she jumps from barrier 10.

#6 World Wide ($26)

Bede Murray’s eight-year-old gelding offers punters great value with a win price of $26 or $6.50 to place. He is well experienced over both the track and distance of the ATC Cup, winning or coming second in five of 11 starts over 2000m. He won the Port Macquire Cup (2000m) three starts ago and will get a good start from midfield in barrier six.
