Nominations for the 2014 Tristarc Stakes were taken on Monday morning, with 19 mares declaring for the race.
The Group 2 Schweppes Tristarc Stakes (1400m) is one of 10 races scheduled for Caulfield Cup Day this Saturday, October 18.
Headlining the classy field of nominations is the Gai Waterhouse-trained Sweet Idea, who was placed in 13 of her total 16 career starts which includes six wins.
The four-year-old is in-form following a Group 2 Missile Stakes (1200m) win and a runner-up finish in the Group 1 Memsie Stakes (1400m), both of which were in August. She missed out on a placing by just half a length her last time out in the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Charity Cup (1400m) after failing to get a clear shot at running on the straight.
The daughter of Snitzel will be one to watch this weekend at Caulfield Racecourse.
Waterhouse has also nominated Diamond Drille, who experienced plenty of success during autumn racing but failed to recreate that in her only spring start to date.
The five-year-old took out the Group 3 Aspiration Quality (1600m) in March before winning the Group 1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes (1600m) one month later.
She returned to the field in August for the Group 3 Toy Show Quality, which was 300m less distance than the Queen Turf, but failed to make an impression finishing third-last. This will be her first start since then.
Catkins, who failed to take out the Group 3 Goldent Pendant (1400m) last month despite overwhelming favouritism, leads the nominations for top trainer Chris Waller.
The five-year-old was well-tipped by punters across the country to take out the race following an impressive Group 3 Sheraco Stakes (1200m) win by 2.5 lengths but was beaten to the post by Arabian Gold.
The mare still finished fast, just half a length behind the winner, and should return to her strengths in the 2014 Tristarc Stakes.
The Robert Smerdon-trained Politeness was also declared for the race, backing-up from a fourth place finish in the Group 2 Blazer Stakes (1400m) on October 4, in which she missed out on a minor placing by just a shoulder.
Kris Lees is dually represented by Group 3 Tibbie Stakes (1400m) winner Fine Bubbles and Scorpio Queen while Clarry Conners has nominated Fare Well.
