Hallowed Crown Primed for 2014 Golden Rose

Charging home to win the Group 3 The Run To The Rose (1200m) at Rosehill on Saturday, Bart & James Cummings are confident exciting three-year-old Hallowed Crown will figure as the horse to beat in the featured Group 1 Golden Rose (1400m) on September 13th.

Jumping from the gates well, Hallowed Crown was immediately led into prime position by jockey Josh Parr in the Run To The Rose, finding a clear line upon reaching the final straight and comfortably hitting the line close to a length in the clear of Kumaon.

Interestingly yet to figure on anything but a rain-affected track, James Cummings told AAP the team is thrilled with the continually building form and class of the son of Street Sense and is confident of polished performances over varying running surfaces through the 2014 Spring Racing Carnival.

“Only time will tell, but he’s worked on a good track,” Cummings said of Hallowed Crown’s chances on a firm surface.

“He is very sensible. He has a great brain for racing and seems to be able to do anything.

“I am sure he will be the horse to beat in the Golden Rose. He is a cool customer and takes everything in his stride.

“He is unbeaten and it’s very exciting.”

Steadily building in form in two notable barrier trials prior to his racing debut, Hallowed Crown first appeared on course for a near-two length victory in the TAB Early Quaddie Plate Maiden (1150m) on March 26th before more than stamping his claims as one to watch when charging home to win the Group 3 Kindergarten Stakes (1100m) on April 12th.

Offered at odds of $13 for success prior to the Run To The Rose, Hallowed Crown’s continued perfect record has seen his quote cut dramatically, and is now available at odds of $5 for success in the 2014 Golden Rose with leading online bookie Ladbrokes.com.au; sharing the top line of betting with exciting filly Bring Me The Maid.

A final field and barrier draw for the 2014 Golden Rose Stakes is due to be released on Wednesday, September 10th.

Ladbrokes.com.au is currently offering all new punters the chance to claim a bonus bet of up to $250, just for signing up!
