The Redoute’s Choice colt is one of 13 three-year-olds among the early entries for this year’s $125,000 Group 3 Up And Coming Stakes (1300m), nominations for the Royal Randwick feature extended until 11am on Tuesday.

After a disappointing debut at Canterbury in early March Scissor Kick returned on July 23 at the same track for a much improved three length win over 1250m to break his maiden status.

Next start he went to the big city at Randwick and won again this time beating home Better Land in the Listed The Rosebud (1200m).

Now he looks for a Group status win at the same track with Scissor Kick nominated for the $1 million Group 1 Golden Rose (1400m) at Rosehill Gardens on September 13.

He is at $10 through in their futures Golden Rose odds and is the shortest priced in those markets of the Up And Coming Stakes nominees.

The next best of the entries in the all-in Golden Rose betting markets is then The Rosebud runner-up Better Land ($11) prepared by Peter Moody.

The Shamardal colt won on debut at Sale in the wet during April before returning on August 9 and will be suited to a Slow track on the weekend, but could also be saved for the $125,000 Group 3 The Run To The Rose (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens on August 30.

Hugh Bowman is on standby for the ride this weekend with Moody to make a decision after watching Better Land’s trackwork throughout the week.

John O’Shea and the Godolphin team also have a strong hand in Saturday’s Up And Coming Stakes entries with two smart types in Meursault and Kumaon.

The duo pays $17 and $31 respectively in early Golden Rose markets with Godlophin’s number one jockey  Kerrin McEvoy opting for the ride on Medaglia D’oro colt Meursault leaving James McDonald to ride Kumaon.

Meursault has just his second start on Saturday following a win on debut in the Claret Stakes (1300m) at Hawkesbury back in May while Lonhro colt Kumaon has had five starts to date.

Among those was a Group 2 Pago Pago Stakes second on a Heavy (9) at Rosehill and two Group 1 efforts most recently over the Randwick mile when third behind Go Indy Go in the Champagne Stakes from April 26.

Other Up And Coming Stakes hopes and their Golden Rose prices include Tony McEvoy’s Not A Single Doubt gelding Affirmation ($21) coming off a 1400m Caulfield win from July 26, the Gai Waterhouse-trained Liberation ($34) and their Group 2 winning stablemate Valentia ($26) first-up after a 12th in the Golden Slipper back in early April.

The full Up And Coming Stakes 2014 nominations are detailed below and will be cut to the final field of acceptances on Wednesday morning.

Before then make sure you take advantage of the exclusive $250 bonus welcome bet offer currently running at who are also offering money back up to $50 on the Warwick Stakes this weekend if your selection runs second!
