Torvill is tipped as the three-year-old filly to...
Fresh off the back of a resounding victory in the Group 2 Euclase Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville last weekend, talented three-year-old Miracles Of Life has been confirmed to line up for the major Group 1 The Goodwood (1200m) this weekend after producing a strong piece of work locally this morning.
Strolling home to claim last weekend’s Group 2 by nearly two lengths, trainer Daniel Clarken said accepting into the final field of Saturday’s feature race hinged on the quality of work produced this morning.
“She worked really well; all good, and we’ve accepted for the race this morning” Clarken told TVN on Tuesday.
“She needed to come through this morning’s work well and she has done that with flying colours.”
Claiming an impressive total of five wins and three places from just eleven competitive race starts to date, Clarken said the prospect of a damp Morphettville track this weekend should play right into the strengths of Miracles Of Life.
“We had a good deal of rain here yesterday and they are saying we’ve got some more to come today, so I can’t really see it drying out much from last week” Clarken added.
“That is why I had her ready for this time of the year.
“Her action always said she’d handle wet tracks and her pedigree does too, so it’s no surprise she swam through the wet stuff last week.”
Claiming a perfect record of four wins from as many starts in her debut racing preparation over the autumn of 2013, Miracles Of Life stamped her claims as one of the country’s most exciting up-and-comers when strolling home to win the major Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes (12000m) by nearly two lengths.
Returning to racing in typically competitive form over three starts in spring, which included an unlucky run for second in the Group 3 Champagne Stakes (1200m) most notably, the Not A Single Doubt filly has continued to build in class and ability this season; finishing second in both the Listed Manihi Classic (1050m) and Listed Redelva Open (1050m) prior to her Euclase triumph.
Confirmed to be sold by owner Teeley Assets come the 2014 Spring, the racing future of Miracles Of Life remains undetermined, with this weekend’s Group 1 a very realistic swansong.
Having blown all competition away last weekend, Miracles Of Life is currently featured as outright fourth favourite for success in early betting markets for the 2014 The Goodwood at a generous quote of $7.50.
Breaking through for a maiden Group 1 title in the Robert Sangster Classic (1200m) last time out, Driefontein is currently sole occupant of the top line of betting at $6.50 odds, ahead of Sistine Demon and Platelet; currently tied on $7 odds.
