2014 Vinery Stud Stakes Betting Extremely Competitive

The 2014 Vinery Stud Stakes betting market is extremely competitive; with Solicit, Zanbagh and Rising Romance all battling for favouritism.

The talented trio of fillies are all available at 2014 Vinery Stud Stakes odds of $5 and any of the three could start favourite when the Group 1 event jumps at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday afternoon.

Solicit has been the best backed runner in 2014 Vinery Stud Stakes betting markets in the past 24 hours; with punters confident that she can bounce back from her shock loss in the Listed Alexandra Stakes (1600m) at Moonee Valley on March 21.

Connections are hoping that Solicit can recapture the form that saw her take out the Group 3 The Vanity (1400m) and Group 2 Kewney Stakes (1400m) at the start of her autumn preparation and she should relish the step-up in trip after finishing a close third in the Group 1 Crown Oaks (2500m) last year.

Zanbagh opened as favourite in 2014 Vinery Stud Stakes betting markets, but has drifted after trainer Guy Walter informed Racing New South Wales stewards that he had added front bar plates to the hoof of the Bernardini filly due to a slightly worn heel.

Walter said that the minor heel issue had not interrupted the preparations of Zanbagh and is confident that the three-year-old can record her second straight win after taking out the Group 3 Keith Nolan Classic (1600m) at Kembla Grange on March 23.

Rising Romance has also had a slightly disrupted 2014 Vinery Stud Stakes campaign; with trainer Donna Logan revealing that the Ekraar filly has suffered from a stone bruise after finishing second behind Puccini in the Group 1 New Zealand Derby (2400m) at Ellerslie on March 1.

Logan is confident that Rising Romance had recovered from the minor setback and she arrived in Sydney last night ahead of her Australian racing debut in the Vinery Stud Stakes on Saturday.

Sitting just behind the favourites in 2014 Vinery Stud Stakes betting markets is Kris Lees-trained Lucia Valentina, who is available at a quote of $7.

Lucia Valentina finished second behind Rising Romance in the Group 2 New Zealand Bloodstock Royal Stakes (2000m) at Ellerslie on New Year’s Day and stormed home late to finish third when making her Australian racing debut in the Group 2 Surround Stakes (1400m) before having no luck in the Group 1 Coolmore Classic (1500m) just under a fortnight ago.

There has also been a sprinkling of support in 2014 Vinery Stud Stakes betting markets for New Zealand Oaks winner Miss Mossman ($12), consistent filly Suavito ($12) and Alexandra Stakes winner Marianne ($12), while Sam Kavanagh-trained Interspersed ($15) has received plenty of support.
