2014 Ranvet Stakes Odds Update – It’s A Dundeel Available At $4

The 2014 Ranvet Stakes betting market is dominated by Fiorente and It’s A Dundeel, but Carlton House is the clear market mover for the Group 1 event at Rosehill Gardens this afternoon.

Carlton House opened at Ranvet Stakes odds as long as $15, but has now been backed into a quote of $7.50 after trainer Gai Waterhouse tipped that he would run well this weekend.

The Street Cry entire returned to a semblance of his best form when second behind Opinion in the Listed Parramatta Cup (1900m) at Rosehill Gardens on March 1, but will still need to improve significantly to record his maiden race win in Australia.

Fiorente remains the favourite in Ranvet Stakes betting markets, at a quote of $2.60, after starting his autumn campaign with impressive wins in both the Group 2 Peter Young Stakes (1800m) at Caulfield on February 22 and the Group 1 Australian Cup (2000m) at Flemington on March 8.

The son of Monsun is chasing three straight wins for the first time in his racing career, but he has clearly stepped up to another level during his autumn preparation.

It’s A Dundeel is available at Ranvet Stakes odds of $3 in the majority of betting markets, but leading online bookmaker Ladbrokes.com.au is prepared to risk the five-time Group 1 winner and are offering punters the opportunity to back the Kiwi champion at $4!

The son of High Chaparral started his 2014 Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival campaign with a surprise defeat to Boban in the Group 1 Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m) at Warwick Farm on March 8, but is undefeated second-up and has a strong record at Rosehill Gardens.

The Chris Waller-trained duo of Foreteller ($12) and Hawkspur ($12) have both received a sprinkling of support and are arguably the best chances of a surprise result in the Ranvet Stakes this weekend.

Foreteller is chasing his second straight win in the Ranvet Stakes, after scoring his maiden Group 1 win in the race last year, while Hawkspur is set to improve on his strong performance behind It’s A Dundeel and Boban in the Chipping Norton Stakes.

The 2014 Ranvet Stakes betting market is rounded out by Kiwi mare Silent Achiever ($14), imported stayer Moriarty ($19), progressive gelding Sertorius ($26) and 2013 Queensland Oaks winner Gondokoro ($201).

Ranvet Stakes odds of $4 for It’s A Dundeel are only available at leading online bookmaker Ladbrokes.com.au.
