2014 Reisling Stakes Betting – Earthquake A Clear Favourite

The 2014 Reisling Stakes betting market is dominated by talented filly Earthquake, who has been well backed to record her fourth win from as many race starts at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday.

Earthquake opened at Reisling Stakes odds of $2, but was quickly crunched into a quote of $1.80 and support is expected to continue to pour in for the star juvenile.

The daughter of Exceed And Excel has been flawless since making her racing debut in the Colin Pearce Plate (1000m) at Royal Randwick on November 9; with the Darley filly winning the Group 3 Blue Diamond Prelude (1100m) and Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) in impressive fashion.

Mossfun is also taking an undefeated record into the 2014 Reisling Stakes and is currently on the second line of betting at a quote of $4.60.

The Team Hawkes-trained filly made her racing debut with a narrow win over Dual Star in the Inglis Nursery (1000m) at Randwick on December 14 and started her 2014 Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival campaign with comfortable wins in the Group 3 Widden Stakes (1100m) at Rosehill Gardens on February 15 and the Group 2 Silver Slipper Stakes (1100m) at the same venue on March 1.

Earthquake’s stablemate Memorial and talented maiden Twirl are the only other fillies that are available at Reisling Stakes odds of less than $10.

Memorial started her racing career with two strong wins at the end of last year, but suffered a surprise loss to Alpha Miss in the Listed Lonhro Plate (1100m) at Warwick Farm on March 8 after missing the jump and being blocked for a run in the final stages of the race.

Twirl has performed well in all three starts since making her debut behind Rubick in the TAB IPhone APP Plate (1000m) at Royal Randwick on January 25, but is yet to score a race win following her third place finish in the Widden Stakes and unlucky second in the Group 2 Sweet Embrace Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick on March 15.

The only other runner in Reisling Stakes betting markets that has received any support is Gai Waterhouse-trained Sheezalady ($61), who finished second behind Tetsuko on debut at Randwick on February 26.
