Murwillumbah trainer Matthew Dunn is looking...
Having included the talented three-year-old in nominations for three events this weekend, co-trainer Simon Zahra has confirmed Solicit will line up for the Group 2 Phar Lap Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday.
Initially appearing likely to remain in Melbourne for the Listed Schweppes Alexandra Stakes (1600m) at Moonee Valley on Friday night, Zahra told TVN the talented filly has completed several strong pieces of work in line with the right-handed track of Rosehill and will have no issue racing in reverse.
“She’s been racing on her Sydney leg all prep down here in Melbourne, so it didn’t pose any problems or issues for her this morning galloping right-handed” Zahra said.
Having been ultimately geared towards an appearance in the Group 1 Australian Oaks (2400m) on April 19th, Zahra confirmed the exciting daughter of Street Cry would contest the traditional path, including the Group 1 Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m) two weeks prior.
Contesting a particularly strong maiden season in 2013, Zahra said Solicit is in peak condition and added substantially more strength to her growing Arsenal.
“This time in she’s big and sound and the races haven’t hurt her at all” he added.
Finishing seventh on her debut in the Vobis Gold Rush (1000m) in march last year, Solicit produced one of the most impressive and consistent spring campaigns of any Australia runner, claiming two wins and four places in six starts, including an unlucky third behind Kirramosa and Zanbagh in the Group 1 Crown Oaks (2500m) on November 7th
Returning to the track in 2014 in blistering form, Solicit strolled home to win the Group 3 The Vanity (1400m) by nearly three lengths first-up, before comfortably claiming the Group 2 Kewney Stakes (1400m) last time out.
