Having jumped from the gates well, Lidari took the lead just 200 metres from the start and dictated a comfortable mid-pace from Foundry and Hvasstan, before rounding the final bend and producing a strong sprint to maintain the lead and find the line ahead of Foundry and Sertorius.

Trainer Peter Moody was happy with the performance of the classy French import in the Blamey Stakes, but has not yet decided where to head next.

“The pleasing thing was the way the horse settled; we’ve worked on getting him to do that” Moody said after the race” Moody said after the race.

“I think the best horse won, his form last preparation was super and he’s come back in great shape.

“Whether we go the Ranvet or Doncaster, we’ll just let the dust settle.

“He’s in the Doncaster, he’ll be in the Ranvet, he’s in the Queen Elizabeth. We’ll find one for him.”

Jockey Luke Nolen delivered a sensational ride on the classy Acclamation entire, but revealed it was not all smooth sailing after the race.

“On paper there was no pace. I didn’t really want to be the leader but he was still a little bit aggressive” Nolen said after dismounting.

“He fought me a little bit, but that might be his game; he might be a miler that does appreciate the run along, but we’ll find out.

“The thing I was really encouraged by was the fact that when I gave him a hit he really responded. I only used the whip as a last resort and he really responded well to my riding.

“At home he can be a bit relaxed in his work when you ask him to do a bit, so that was really encouraging what he did today.”

The win chalks up the first victory at Group-level for Lidari, who will now figure in serious contentions for some of this season’s major Group 1 races. is currently offering the best odds on all 2014 autumn Group level races!
