Having jumped fairly, the Sebring filly sat comfortably amongst the field in her first competitive start as a professional racer and allowed pre-post favourite Eloping to take up the pace, before picking up a strong sprint with rivals Husson Eagle and early market mover More Radiant; eventually finishing a nose in the clear.

Trainer Peter Moody was confident in a strong first-up performance by Bring Me The Maid, having produced several quality pieces of work in the lead up to today’s race.

“She’s always shown nice ability at home” Moody told the media immediately after the race.

“She trialled well at Caulfield this time round and going back to her previous prep she trialled very well with Oakleigh Girl.”

Moody further shared his excitement for co-owners Roy Higgins and Wylie Dalzeil Racing; the former of whom is currently struck down with illness.

“Great result for Roy Higgins; he’s probably not in the best of condition at the moment but I’m sure he’ll be sitting up there with a smile on his face and wishing us all the best from home.” Moody added.

“He and Wylie have been tremendous supporters of the stable over the last few years.

“It’s great to have a stakes winner for the boys.”

While experiencing a huge share of final-minute wagers, classy filly Eloping was unable to maintain the late pace of Bring Me The Maid, finishing nearly two-lengths off the pace in fourth.

Bring Me The Maid has now consolidated her position as a legitimate 2014 Golden Slipper (1200m) contender, with a lead-up run in the Group 2 Riesling Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens on March 22nd a likely lead-up target. is currently offering the best odds on all 2014 autumn races, including the Group 1 Golden Slipper!
