Despite a less-than successful maiden tilt at Group 1 level in the Toorak Handicap (1600m) in October, Mouro ended his last preparation with two consecutive wins in the Plumbtec Sale Cup (1600m) and Group 3 Eclipse Stakes (1800m) on November 16th.

Trainer Tony McEvoy has been pleased with the way the Grand Slam entire has taken to work in 2014, and is confident of success first-up having drawn barrier 1.

Also confirmed in the final field for the 2014 TAB Rewards Stakes is Peter Moody-trained Fat Al (barrier 2).

Fat Al has amassed six wins from 16 starts since debuting on track in May of 2011, undoubtedly peaking when beating Ambidexter and Rolling Pin to the line in the 2012 Group 1 Epsom Handicap (1600m).

Having transferred from the care of Gai Waterhouse to Peter Moody prior to his 2013 spring campaign, the Al Maher gelding was unable to make an impact in only two races and was returned to the spelling paddock at the beginning of November.

Peter Moody is set to dominate the running of the 2014 TAB Rewards Stakes, having also accepted places for Strawberry Boy (barrier 6) and High Esteem.

In a short 2013 autumn campaign, Strawberry Boy managed two wins from as many starts including the Chase Hotel Handicap (1600m) ahead of classy miler Bit Of Hell.

Moody has a high opinion of the talented Redoute’s Choice gelding and has included his name in nominations for both the Group 1 Doncaster Mile (1600m) and Group 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m).

High Esteem will return to the track for the first time in 2014 in the TAB Rewards Stakes and is offered a brilliant chance to get his preparation off to the best possible start, having drawn the ideal barrier 4.

Despite closing his last campaign 11th in the Group 2 Shannon Stakes (1500m) High Esteem recorded some strong results over quality opposition over the 2013 spring and reportedly spelled well over the summer. is currently offering the best odds on all Flemington races this weekend, including the Group 3 TAB Rewards Stakes!
