Having claimed three wins from 12 starts, Carlton House (barrier 5) began his racing career under the care of leading British trainer Sir Michael Stoute, but was transferred to the stables of Gai Waterhouse in late 2012 after an unsuccessful stop-off at Sha Tin for the Group 1 Hong Kong Cup (2000m).

Following nearly a year in the spelling paddock, Carlton House returned to the track in the Group 2 Expressway Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on February 8th, but was unable to match the late pace of the field and finished a disappointing 9th.

Waterhouse is confident the talented Street Cry entire has the means to reverse his recent fortunes and has included Carlton House in nominations for the Group 1 Doncaster Mile (1600m) and Group 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m).

Trainer Chris Waller will saddle nearly half the field for the 2014 Parramatta Cup, having accepted positions for Permit, Bayrir, Junoob (barrier 7) and Opinion (barrier 2); amazingly all imported stayers.

Permit has returned to the track in great condition in his current preparation, having followed up an unlucky second to Hoylonny in the Wingham Handicap (1900m) on November 16th with strong wins in the Listed Christmas Cup (2400m) and Listed Tattersalls Club Cup (2400m) most recently.

Waller is confident the classy Dansili gelding will continue his strong run of form despite drawing the wide barrier 9.

After starting his career under the tutelage of leading French trainer Alain De Royer Dupre, Bayrir was transferred to the care of Waller at the beginning of 2013, but has so-far been unable to live up to the hype produced in his homeland.

Allocated the inside barrier, Waller believes Bayrir can lay a serious claim on the Parramatta Cup having already contested two events this preparation.

John O’Shea-trained Lightinthenite (barrier 4), Winning Glory (barrier 8), Jacquinot Bay (barrier 3) and Honourable Aussie (barrier 6) complete the final field for the 2014 Listed Parramatta Cup. is currently offering the best odds on all events at Rosehill Gardens this weekend, including the 2014 Parramatta Cup!
