The five-year-old proved fitter in her second-up run of the autumn, winning the race ahead of Hazard, who placed second, and Hi Belle, who was gallant in third position.

Bonaria has now won six of her 31 race starts and has earned more than $486,000 in prize money during her career.

The Redoute’s Choice mare placed third by a short margin first-up in the Group 3 Bellmaine Stakes and backed it up with today’s 2014 Mannerism Stakes conquest.

Trainer Pat Hyland was full of praise for Bonaria after the race was run.

“She’s pretty special. She’s been a great little mare. We get a great thrill,” Hyland said.

“She’s a great trying mare. Michael Rodd will support me on that.”

Bonaria was ridden in the 2014 Mannerism Stakes by jockey Michael Rodd, who has now partnered her in her past three race starts.

“I went from being in a sticky spot… to having all the galloping room in the world,” Rodd said of Bonaria’s run.

“I could see the leader just starting to float out.

“I knew I was on the best mare.

“It’s really good to get the win today.”

Bonaria was paying odds of $4.80 to win the 2014 Mannerism Stakes at Ladbrokes.com.au.
