2014 Bellmaine Stakes Final Field – Arinosa To Carry Top Weight

Talented mare Arinosa will carry the top weight of 59kg when she returns to racing in the Group 3 Bellmaine Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on Saturday.

Arinosa has been allocated 59kg under the set weights plus penalties conditions of the race and should receive a lovely run into the event from barrier four with rising jockey Brenton Avdulla on board.

The Dash For Cash mare has been given two quiet trials since returning from stint in the spelling paddock, finishing ninth in a trial over 900 metres at Rosehill Gardens on January 21 and sixth over 844 metres on January 31, and has previously performed well first-up; winning the Group 2 Premiere Stakes (1200m) at the start of her 2013 Spring Racing Carnival campaign.

Veteran mare Hi Belle will carry 55kg in the Bellmaine Stakes this weekend and looks to be the best-weighted horse in the race, but will need plenty of luck after drawing barrier 14.

The daughter of Clangalang has not recorded a race win since she took out the Group 3 Mannerism Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield during the 2012 Melbourne Festival Of Racing, but produced a couple of strong performances during her spring campaign; finishing second behind Catkins in the Group 3 Mares Sprint (1200m) at Caulfield and the Group 3 Summoned Stakes (1600m) at Caulfield on Zipping Classic Day.

Another mare that had their Bellmaine Stakes chances effected by the barrier draw for the Group 3 event is Power Princess, who will be having her first race start since joining the stable of Mick Price.

Power Princess was previously trained in Perth and will be having just her fourth career start outside of Western Australia; with her best result a third place finish behind equine superstar Black Caviar in the Group 1 Robert Sangster Classic (1200m) at Morphettville in 2012.

Bippo No Bungus will also be flying the flag for Perth Racing in the Bellmaine Stakes and performed well during her summer preparation.

The Neville Parnham-trained mare took out the Listed Starstruck Classic (1600m) at Ascot on December 21 and finished third behind the talented Elite Belle in the Listed La Trice Classic (1800m) on New Year’s Day.
