Headlining the 2014 Blue Diamond Prelude Colts And Geldings nominations is speedy colt Rubick, who recorded a comfortable three lengths win on debut at Royal Randwick on January 25.

Rubick first drew the attention of the Australian racing public with a dominant barrier trial performance at Rosehill Gardens on January 7 and he has since been backed into favouritism for the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on February 22.

Another last start winner that has been included in the nominations for the race is Darley colt Mohave, who recorded his maiden race win in the Listed Blue Diamond Preview (1000m) at Caulfield on January 25.

Mohave has flown under the radar in the shadow of stablemate Earthquake, but has performed well in each of his race starts and impressed trainer Peter Snowden with his maturity.

Cornrow, Ducal Castle and Berlutti will also be backing up from the Blue Diamond Preview at Caulfield this Saturday.

Talented colt Nostradamus is taking winning form into the 2014 Blue Diamond Prelude, winning the Nursery Plate by two and a half lengths on debut, while Chivalry is chasing his second straight win after claiming victory in the Quest Moonee Valley Plate (1000m) at Moonee Valley on December 28.

One of the most interesting horses in the 2014 Blue Diamond Prelude Colts And Geldings nominations is Robbie Laing-trained Boomwaa who remains a chance of contesting the Group 1 Black Caviar Lightning Stakes (1000m) at Flemington on February 15.

Boomwaa scored a dominant three lengths win in the Group 3 Maribyrnong Plate (1000m) during the 2013 Spring Racing Carnival and has performed well without winning in two starts this preparation; finishing second behind Fighting Sun in the ATC Membership On Sale Plate (1100m) at Rosehill Gardens on January 4 and the Inglis Classic (1200m) at Royal Randwick on January 18.

Other notable horses that have been included in the Blue Diamond Prelude For Colts And Geldings are: impressive barrier trial winner Betcher, Gai Waterhouse-trained Francesco, Magic Millions Classic runner Geromayo and Rick Hore Lacy-trained Here Comes The Boom.
