Prince Harada Clear Favourite In 2014 Manfred Stakes Betting Markets

Prince Harada opened as a clear favourite in 2014 Manfred Stakes betting markets and has already been well-backed to record the third win of his racing career.

Prince Harada has been well backed to return to the races with a win in the 2014 Manfred Stakes at Caulfield on Saturday.

The Haradasun colt failed to record a race win during his 2013 Spring Racing Carnival campaign, finishing second in the Group 3 McNeil Stakes (1200m), fifth in the Group 1 Golden Rose Stakes (1400m) and sixth in the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m), but is currently available at odds of $2.90 to beat the strong field in the Manfred Stakes.

On the second line of 2014 Manfred Stakes betting markets is Gai Waterhouse-trained Bull Point who will be returning to the races for the first time since his fast-finishing third in the Golden Rose Stakes at Rosehill Gardens on September 14.

Bull Point is available at Manfred Stakes odds of $4.20 and Waterhouse is confident that the Fastnet Rock colt can perform at the highest level of racing during his autumn campaign.

The talented Fast ‘N’ Rocking has recorded just one win from 12 race starts, but has been well backed in Manfred Stakes betting after drawing the inside barrier for the Group 3 event yesterday.

Fast ‘N’ Rocking ($5) started his 2013 Spring Racing Carnival campaign with strong performances in the Group 3 Vain Stakes (1100m) and Group 3 McNeil Stakes (1200m), but failed to fire in the Golden Rose, Group 3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude (1400m) and Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m).

Just behind Fast ‘N’ Rocking in Manfred Stakes betting is Robbie Griffiths-trained The Quarterback who is available at a quote of $5.50 to record his third straight victory when he steps up to Group level for the first time in his racing career this weekend.

The Quarterback will be making his metropolitan racing debut after recording dominant wins at Bairnsdale and Sale during his spring preparation.

The only other runner in Manfred Stakes betting markets that is at odds of less than $7 is $1 million colt Monkstone, who will be returning to the races for the first time since September.

The Peter Moody-trained galloper was purchased for $1 million by the Coolmore Stud and scored a strong win in the APP Handicap (1200m) before failing to fire in the Listed Henry Bucks Best Dressed Stakes (1400m).
