Final Field & Barriers Announced – 2014 Hobart Guineas

The final field and barrier draw has been released for the Listed Hobart Guineas, which will run at Hobart Racecourse on Sunday January 19, 2014.

11 horses have accepted for a run in the 2014 Hobart Guineas, including Inner Warrior.

Inner Warrior is one of only two horses who is coming into the race off the back of a winning performance.

The three-year-old has won four of his 12 race starts and has earned more than $125,000 in prize money during his career.

Inner Warrior has drawn barrier six for the 2013 Hobart Guineas and will be ridden by apprentice jockey Sigrid Carr.

The God’s Own gelding appears ready to strike in this Sunday’s Hobart Guineas after claiming victory in the Listed Tasmanian Guineas last start by an incredible two and a half lengths.

Inner Warrior is trained at Brighton by Terence Evans and will be out to claim her third straight win in the 2014 Hobart Guineas.

Also included in the 2014 Hobart Guineas final field and barrier draw is Geegees Velvet.

Geegees Velvet has won three of her 15 race starts and has earned more than $113,000 in prize money.

The Wordsmith filly placed second behind Inner Warrior in the Tasmanian Guineas last start and will be out to turn the tables in the 2014 Hobart Guineas.

Geegees Velvet has drawn barrier four for the 2014 Hobart Guineas and will be ridden by Jason Lyon.
