Myamira has taken out the 2014 Belle Of The Turf Stakes at Gosford Racecourse this afternoon.
The five-year-old won the Group 3 Belle Of The Turf by in front of Pleiades, who placed second, and La Pieta, who finished in third position.
Myamira was paying odds of $10 to win the 2014 Belle Of The Turf Stakes at Ladbrokes.com.au.
The galloper has now won six of her 27 race starts and has earned more than $190,000 in prize money during her horse racing career.
The Beautiful Crown mare is trained at Scone by trainer Rodney Northam and was ridden by jockey Robert Thompson.
“I wasn’t worried much. (There was)a lot of pressure up front, a lot of speed,” Thompson said.
“She likes this sort of ground and when she lets go she’s got a pretty good 400 metre sprint in her.
“She circled them pretty quick.”
Thompson was quick to praise Northam with the winning run.
“He’s always had this mare and he’s always done a fantastic job with her,” he said.
The jockey will now travel north to the Gold Coast to ride Sagatona in the $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic tomorrow.
“I’m on the first emergency but it’s got a run,” Thompson said.
“I think she’ll beat more home than what’ll beat her.”
