2014 Scenic Blast Stakes Transferred To Sunday Due To Extreme Heat

The Listed Scenic Blast Stakes at Perth’s Ascot Racecourse has been moved to this Sunday January 12, 2014.

The 2014 Scenic Blast Stakes was originally due to take place tomorrow, however, an extreme heat warning for the day has led organisers to change the date.

A total of nine horses will line up for the $100,000 Scenic Blast Stakes, including Watermans Bay.

Watermans Bay has won seven of his 23 race starts and has earned more than $422,000 in prize money during his horse racing career.

The Eternity Range gelding will be chasing his first start since February 2013 when he won the Listed Pink Cyril Flower Stakes at Ascot.

His most recent start was in the Group 3 AJ Scahill Stakes on December 7, where he places seventh of nine runners.

Prior to that, he showed his ability by placing a close third in the Group 1 Winterbottom Stakes behind Buffering and Moment Of Change.

Watermans Bay is trained at Bunbury by Peter and Matthew Giadresco and has no shortage of ability of the Ascot track.

The five-year-old has drawn barrier eight for the Scenic Blast Stakes 2014 and will be ridden by jockey Glenn Smith in the race.

Excelorada and Beach Express are also included in the 2014 Scenic Blast Stakes final field and barrier draw.
