Magic Millions 3YO Stakes 2013 Betting – Sweet Idea Odds On

2014 Gold Coast Magic Millions Guineas favourite Sweet Idea is odds-on to win her final preparatory run in Sydney this afternoon, the 2013 Wyong Magic Millions Stakes.

The three-year-old Snitzel filly pays $1.45 and continues to gain support as the market mover for today’s $100,000 Wyong Magic Millions 3YO Stakes (1200m) running as Race 7 at 5:00pm (AEST).

She’s also at $4.80 sitting top of the odds for the $1 million Magic Millions 3YO Guineas (1400m) at the Gold Coast on January 11.

Drawn in gate one for this afternoon Sweet Idea will be ridden by James McDonald and is primed to get the run of the race in her first start since running second in the Group 2 Silver Shadow Stakes (1200m).

A star juvenile at the start of the year with her two-year-old campaign culminating with a third to Overreach in the $3.5 million Group 1 Golden Slipper Stakes (1200m), Sweet Idea bled during her Silver Shadow run and was banned for three months.

Today will be her first run since and Waterhouse is hoping for a good fresh run upon her return.

The field for the Wyong Magic Millions Stakes is down to eight starters with the scratching of #8 Fiftyshadesofgrey.

Two of the other remaining contenders are also under $10 in the markets along with the favourite.

Second pick paying $4 is Weinholt (barrier three) before Dream Forward pays $7.

The Peter Moody-trained Stratum colt Weinholt comes off a four length barrier trial win at Randwick from earlier this month, before which they found themselves outclassed running 12th to Long John in the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m).

Charge Forward filly Dream Forward meanwhile races for the first time since a close fifth in a Rosehill black type over 1400m in late September, the lightly-raced youngster having her sixth career start.

Also in the mix at $18 are then Paul Perry’s Choisir colt Wouldnt It Be Nice and the Stephen Farley-trained filly Patinage shoting for her fourth consecutive win.
