With money starting to come for a number of the longer priced hopes in Saturday’s Villiers Stakes 2013 at Kensington the odds on early favourite Taxmeifyoucan have eased.

Gregory Hickman’s progressive four-year-old opened $6 top fancy to take out this year’s $175,000 Group 2 Villiers Stakes (1550m) following a devastatingly close last start second in the Goulburn Cup over the mile.

They’ve since drifted out to $6.50 in the markets and now share the first line of Villiers Stakes betting with Sysmo.

The equal favourites are drawn beside each other with Taxmeifyoucan in gate eight with 53kg and Tony McEvoy’s My Risk five-year-old Sysmo in nine.

Winner of the Seymour Cup two back, Sysmo drops four kilos from 58kg to 54kg for Saturday after a last start third over 1600m at Flemington behind Post D’France on Emirates Stakes Day.

They were to back up in the ATC Cup a fortnight ago but were ruled out of that with a hoof problem they’ve since overcome.

The other two single figure chances in the Villiers Stakes odds remain the same as when markets opened, but their positions have been reversed.

The John Hawkes-trained Ninth Legion has eased out from $8.50 to $9, while Anthony Cummings’ hit-and-miss hope Strike The Stars has had some love coming in from $9 to $8.50.

Chris Waller meanwhile prepares the notable Villiers Stakes market mover Said Com who has been backed in from $11 to $10.

A five-year-old O’Reilly gelding, Said Com comes the traditional Villiers Stakes lead-up when fifth to White Sage in the Listed Festival Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill on November 30.

Their stablemate Coup Ay Tee meanwhile has eased out from $10 to $12, the six-year-old back in Sydney after a failed one run campaign in New Zealand.

Scream Machine at $12 remains the next best in betting after their Goulburn Cup fourth from November 24 where they carried 59kg, they drop right back to 54.5kg here, followed closely by last year’s runner-up Alma’s Fury ($13) and the Joe Pride-trained Winter Cup winner Destiny’s Kiss ($14) who could be looking for more distance.
