The three-year-old daughter of Sebring has won two of her eight starts to date and is shaping up as an exciting chance for next year’s $1 million Magic Millions 3YO Guineas (1400m) on January 11.

A multiple stakes performer in Adelaide including a black type sprint win back in March, Bring A Ring was last seen running a close fourth to Moderate in the Listed Lexus Hybrid Plate (1400m) at Flemington on Melbourne Cup Day.

She’s been tested against Group company just once before when backing up from her stakes win at Morphettville to run third behind Excites Zelady in the Group 3 Morphettville Junction Breeders Stakes (1200m) in April, after which she was found to be lame.

McEvoy will run Bring A Ring in Sydney at Rosehill Gardens this Saturday against a field of fellow three-year-olds over 1300m.

He will also be represented at the meeting by her Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival-bound stablemate Sysmo who runs in the $100,000 Listed ATC Cup (2000m).

Both horses will be ridden by expat Kiwi jockey James McDonald who will be the seventh rider aboard Bring A Ring so far.

The fillies’ run on Saturday will then help McEvoy determine whether she’s worth of a Magic Millions Guineas shot in the summer which would be her first trip to the sunshine state.

“If her form is good in this run and maybe one other, we’ll go north to the Gold Coast,” McEvoy told AAP this week.
