Hot Snitzel has won six of his 24 race starts and has earned more than $720,000 in prize money during his career.

The five-year-old will be having his third start this spring racing carnival after failing to place better than ninth in his two attempts so far this season.

Hot Snitzel’s most recent performance resulted in a 10th placing in the Group 2 Yellowglen Stakes at Flemington on November 2, 2013.

The Snitzel gelding is trained at Caulfield by Gerald Ryan and will have the home track advantage in the 2013 Sandown Stakes.

Also included in the 2013 Sandown Stakes nominations is Pinwheel.

Pinwheel has won 12 of his 40 race starts and has earned more than $1.15 million in prize money.

The Lonhro gelding will also be third-up this preparation after two previous runs this spring.

His last run was in the Group 3 Moonga Stakes, where he placed fifth of 12 runners.

Pinwheel will be looking to post his first win in over 12 months when he runs in the 2013 Sandown Stakes.

Also included in the 2013 Sandown Stakes nominations are Freereturn and Plucky Belle.
