2013 VRC Sprint Classic Betting – Moment Of Change The Market Mover

Peter Moody-trained Moment Of Change has been the best backed runner in 2013 VRC Sprint Classic betting markets; with the 2012 Sir Rupert Clark Stakes winner now into odds of $8.

Moment Of Change has not been successful since his maiden Group 1 victory in the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes but has raced consistently at the highest level of racing; finishing second in the Lightning Stakes (1000m), second in the Newmarket Handicap (1200m), fourth in the Moir Stakes (1200m) and fourth in the Manikato Stakes (1200m).

Luke Nolen will partner Moment Of Change for the ninth time in the VRC Sprint Classic this afternoon and is confident that the Barely A Moment gelding can record his first victory in over a year when he returns to Flemington this afternoon.

“I thought the Manikato was his best run this time in,” Nolen said.

“He’s had three runs at Moonee Valley this prep and he wasn’t comfortable in his first run, second-up they had a good shower of rain before the race and it got a bit skatey and he doesn’t go,”

“He stepped away a bit average last time and it was a forgive run as well.”

While Moment Of Change has been the best supported runner, the clear favourite in 2013 VRC Sprint Classic betting markets is Lucky Nine at odds of $3.60.

Connections of Lucky Nine suffered a scare yesterday when the five-time Group 1 winner was forced to underdog a veterinary examination due to a small cut on his near hind leg but was passed fit to run by Racing Victoria stewards.

The Dubawi gelding has won Group 1 races in Hong Kong and Singapore and has the opportunity to record his first win in Australia this afternoon after finishing a narrow second behind Buffering in the Group 1 Manikato Stakes (1200m).

Buffering will renew acquaintances with Lucky Nine this afternoon and has remained steady at a price of $7 since the VRC Sprint Classic field was released earlier this week.

The Mossman gelding finally broke through for his maiden Group 1 victory in the Manikato Stakes at his last start and is returning to Flemington for the first time since his disappointing eighth place finish in this race last year when it was known as the Patinack Farm Classic.

The 2013 Spring Racing Carnival is just about at its conclusion but there is still time to back a winner at Ladbrokes.com.au.

Sign-up and deposit at Ladbrokes.com.au this afternoon to receive a free bet worth up to $500 that can be used to back the winner of the VRC Sprint Classic or any other race!
