2013 Crown Oaks Won By Kirramosa – Flemington Results

Kirramosa has won the $1 million Crown Oaks at Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse today November 7, 2013.

The three-year-old filly flew home down the final straight to just nab second placed runner Zanbagh on the line.

Kirramosa has now won four of her eight race starts and has earned almost $830,000 in prize money during her horse racing career.

Today’s win came after he strong winning performance in the Group 2 Wakeful Stakes at Flemington on November 2.

Trainer John Sergeant was over the moon with Kirramosa’s 2013 Crown Oaks victory.

“She jumped well so (Nash Rawiller) just…put her to sleep.

“The big question today was whether she’d back up (from the Wakeful Stakes).

“(But she has a) very good constitution, she eats and she’s got a good temperament and that makes a good horse.

“She’ll go (out) for six week and we’ll probably target Sydney in the autumn.”

Jockey Nash Rawiller was pleased to finally have a win this spring after a turbulent spring racing carnival, which included losing the ride on Melbourne Cup winner Fiorente.

“This filly’s a really good stayer,” said Rawiller.

“She could be the real deal I think coming into the autumn and later on as a four-year-old mare.

“She just kept finding for me. That was the most important part.

“You’ve just got to role with the punches.

“I’m thankful to the owners for keeping me on her.”
