Maribyrnong Plate 2013 – Final Field & Barrier Draw

The final field and barrier draw has been released for the Group 3 Maribyrnong Plate, which will take place at Flemington Racecourse this Saturday November 9, 2013.

A total of nine two-year-old have accepted for a run in the 2013 Maribyrnong Plate and only three have had previous race starts.

One of these horses is Robbie Laing’s Boomwaa, who is having his third race start in the 2013 Maribyrnong Plate.

Boomwaa placed third on debut in the Listed Maribyrnong Trial Stakes at Flemington on October 5, before finishing fourth in the $255,000 Inglis Banner last start.

The Mutawaajid gelding will be looking to add to his current prize money of $22,000 when he runs in the 2013 Maribyrnong Plate.

Boomwaa has drawn barrier three for the 2013 Maribyrnong Plate and will be ridden by jockey Vlad Duric in the race.

Good Prince is also included in the 2013 Maribyrnong Plate final field and barrier draw.

The Casino Prince colt placed second in the Listed Debutante Stakes at Caulfield on October 12, 2013, before running 12th in the Inglis Banner.

He raced greenly in the race and jumped awkwardly, and will be looking to turn his form around when he runs in the 2013 Maribyrnong Plate.

Good Prince had drawn barrier  four for the race and will be ridden by jockey Glen Boss.

Alaska and Silent Whisper are also included in the 2013 Maribyrnong Plate final field acceptances.
