The Melbourne Cup date is set for Tuesday November 5 meaning there’s just one more sleep until the 24-horse Melbourne Cup field faces off in Flemington Race 7 at 3:00pm (AEST).

With a total $6 million in prize money on offer, plus bragging rights as the world’s best stayer, it’s sure to be a hotly contested two mile clash featuring the top stayers from across the globe.

Nine international raiders are out to spoil the show for the locally-trained hopes in this year’s Cup.

However Sydney’s own Gai Waterhouse still prepares the current Melbourne Cup betting favourite with her imported Monsun stallion Fiorente sitting at $7.50 in the markets.

They are certainly going to be challenged for the title however with a host of superstars to defeat including two previous Melbourne Cup winners in Dunaden (2011) and the defending champ Green Moon (2012).

So to help you sort the genuine Melbourne Cup contenders from the pretenders, below we’ve done the Melbourne Cup form and summed up the chances of all the Melbourne Cup runners in two words.

Remember, all the odds quoted below are from the standard fixed win markets but at you can lock in DOUBLE that price thanks to their exclusive double the odds offer on the Melbourne Cup this week!
