Waller Quinellas 2013 Myer Classic – Red Tracer Wins

Chris Waller duo Red Tracer and Catkins have gone head-to-head down the Flemington straight, with the former coming out on top in the 2013 Myer Classic.

Red Tracer won the race by a nostril ahead of Catkins, with Fire Up Fifialso putting together a strong performance for third position.

The Dane Shadow mare has now won two Group 1 titles and has accumulated more than $2.06 million in prize money during her impressive career.

Winning jockey Nash Rawiller admitted he was concerned when Red Tracer visibly over raced during today’s 2013 Myer Classic.

“I was worried mid race,” Rawiller said.

“She didn’t want to switch off.

“But jeez she was tough. She’s a very dominant mare”

‘She does deserve it, she’s a tough mare. She makes her own luck.

“It’s damn hard to win these races and it’s even more special when you do it with a horse you’ve had a lot to do with.”

Chris Waller revealed that he thought Catkins had the race won as they battled it out up the straight.

“I thought Catkins had the upper hand,” he said.

“I think Catkins will become the next Red Tracer and her time will come.

“That was a very proud moment.

“It’s magic. It’s quite a surreal feeling.”

Red Tracer was paying odds of $3.10 at Ladbrokes.com.au to win the 2013 Myer Classic.
