Running as the last at 4:55pm (AEST) this year’s $400,000 Group 1 Clamms Seafood Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) features a capacity line-up of 18 starters plus one emergency.

Steady favourite in the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes odds at $5.50 is the Gary Portelli-trained Rebel Dane, first-up winner of the Show County Quality who comes off a fourth to Speediness in the Bobbie Lewis at Flemington.

The genuine Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes betting market mover meanwhile is Rob Heathcote’s Group 1 winning Queenslander Solzhenitsyn who has been backed in from $6.50 to $5.50.

Solzhenitsyn gets back to Melbourne after resuming with a second to Riva De Lago in the Theo Marks Stakes and should love their return to Caulfield where they won last year’s Toorak Handicap.

Other single figure chances for Sunday’s major showdown are then the Peter Moody-trained improver Strawberry Boy ($7.50) and the autumn’s Australian Guineas champ Ferlax ($9.50).

So this is what the latest markets are saying but what about the race form, history and statistics.

To save you scrolling through it all below are the must know Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes facts and form stats so you can back a winner at Ladbrokes.com.au this weekend!
