2013 Cameron Handicap – Final Field & Barriers

The final field and barrier draw has been released for the Group 3 Cameron Handicap, which is due to take place at Newcastle Racecourse on Wednesday September 18, 2013.

16 runners and two emergencies have accepted for a run in the 2013 Cameron Handicap, including Spurtonic.

The four-year-old has won all three of his race starts this preparation, with his most recent victory being in an $85,000 Handicap at Royal Randwick on September 7, 2013, by an impressive two and a half lengths.

In total, Spurtonic has won four of his 10 race starts and has earned more than $134,000 in prize money during his horse racing career.

Spurtonic is trained at Royal Randwick by Gai Waterhouse and will be having his first attempt at Group racing when he lines up for the 2013 Cameron Handicap.

The Flying Spur gelding has drawn barrier six for the 2013  Spring Stakes and will be ridden by jockey Tommy Berry in the race.

Also included in the 2013 Cameron Handicap final field and barrier draw is Alma’s Fury.

Alma’s Fury has won six of his 37 race starts and has earned more than $55,000 in prize money.

The Refuse To Bend colt has drawn barrier 17 and be ridden by jockey Christian Reith in the 2013 Cameron Handicap.

Toydini and Niblick also feature amongst the 2013 Cameron Handicap final field and barrier draw acceptances.
