The three-year-old was too quick for his competitors as he flew around the final turn ahead of the pack and was never caught down the final straight.

Race favourite Moment Of Change placed second in today’s 2013 McEwen Stakes, while General Truce rounded out the placings in third.

Kuroshio has now won three of his eight race starts and has earned more than $300,000 in prize money during his career.

The Exceed And Excel colt was paying odds of $16 to win the 2013 McEwen Stakes at

Stable representative, Paul Snowden, was pleased to see Kuroshio bounce back from a last placing in the Group 3 San Domenico Stakes last start.

“It was just a total forget run the other day,” he said.

“He’s a quick horse this horse.

“He was sent down in good order and he’s performed accordingly.

“He’s just an ultra-professional.

“He was just too good, too quick.

“It was good for us down here today to get that type of win.”

Kuroshio was ridden by jockey Craig Newitt in the 2013 McEwen Stakes, who rode him exactly to plan.

“We just had a plan to go out. He’s very quick early,” Newitt said.

“He was scooting along and I just got one cheap sectional.

“I just let him roll with no weight on his back.”
