Speediness Claims 2013 Bobbie Lewis Quality Win

The Group 3 Bobbie Lewis Quality has been won by Speediness at Flemington Racecourse today September 7, 2013.

Speediness flew down the straight to win the race in front of Temple Of Boom, who finished in second, and Albrecht, who placed third.

The Testa Rossa gelding won the Listed Scone Cup last start by a nose before lining up for today’s 2013 Bobbie Lewis Quality in Melbourne.

Speediness was paying odds of $20 to take out the 2013 Bobbie Lewis Quality at Ladbrokes.com.au.

The win marked the seventh for Speediness, who has accumulated more than $555,000 in prize money over his 22 race starts.

Trainer Colin Scott was over the moon with Speediness’ winning performance.

“We didn’t give him too long out after Scone,” Scott said.

“The horse has actually improved significantly, even in his track work, from Scone to this preparation.

“There is still a lot of improvement left in him.

“Having three weeks to his next run we weren’t too worried about him having a solid run first up.

“Sir Rupert Clarke (Stakes), then into the Toorak (Handicap).

“Moving to Caulfield really turned the horse around. It’s definitely a great place to be.”

Craig Williams was the jockey to steer Speediness to victory in today’s 2013 Bobbie Lewis Quality.

“I was really fortunate that Colin and an owner gave me the option to ride the horse,” Williams said.

“He was really confident with the horse going into the spring.”
