Malavio Claims 2013 Tramway Stakes Victory – Results

Malavio has just edged out Bello to win the 2013 Tramway Stakes at Royal Randwick Racecourse.

The five-year-old won the race by a nose ahead of Bello, who has to be content with second place, and Royal Descent, who produced an eye catching run for third.

Malavio was second-up in the 2013 Tramway Stakes, after placing second in the Group 3 Show County Qualityat Warwick Farm last run.

The Snitzel gelding has now won nine of his 21 race starts and has earned more than $370,000 in prize money during his horse racing career.

Trainer Steve Englebrecht couldn’t believe his luck after watching Malavio win today’s 2013 Tramway Stakes.

“Unbelieveable run, unbeliaveable ride. Great effort,” Englebrecht said.

“Coming from the outside alley he had to do a lot of work early.”

Jockey Nathan Berry continued his fantastic start to the spring racing carnival with another win aboard Malavio in the 2013 Tramway Stakes.

“It means a bit to me this horse. I’ve done a lot of work with him,” Berry said.

“He’s a tough horse.

“So yeah, just over the moon.

“They’ve all told me it will happen, stick on. But now it’s happening it’s great.”
