The Furious Stakes(1200m) is one of two Group 2 races at Royal Randwick this Saturday and has drawn a strong field of classy fillies.
Ten three-year-olds are set to contest the race tomorrow; with barriers set to open at 2.30 for what is the first race in the lucrative Princess Series.
The clear standout in the 2013 Furious Stakes betting market is champion two-year-old Guelph who will be returning to the races for the first time since she finished her juvenile campaign with back-to-back wins in the Group 1 Sires Produce Stakes (1400m) and Group 1 Champagne Stakes (1600m).
Guelph ($2) has drawn barrier ten but should receive a lovely ride into the race with Darley stable jockey Kerrin McEvoy on board.
Darren Smith-trained Dream Forward ($8) and debut winner Forever Loved ($8) are the only other horses in the field that are available at single figure odds at Ladbrokes.
#1 Guelph ($2)
She may be a very short price but it is hard to see how the classy filly gets beaten. Trainer Peter Snowden believes Guelph has returned for her three-year-old campaign in excellent condition and there is nothing in this field that should trouble her, if she is at her best.
#2 Twilight Royale ($17)
Twilight Royale performed fairly first-up in the Silver Shadow Stakes (1200m) and should have taken plenty of benefit out of that run. The Testa Rossa filly won the Group 2 VRC Sires Produce Stakes (1400m) during the autumn and is an excellent each-way bet.
#3 Thump ($12)
The Patinack Farm-owned filly finally broke her maiden in the Group 2 Silver Shadow Stakes (1200m) at her last start but has generally failed to string together consistent performances throughout his racing career. However, the $12 is a good price for a last-start winner and she is another good place betting option.
