Darley Trio Included In 2013 Ming Dynasty Quality Handicap Nominations

Leading trainer Peter Snowden is set to have a strong hand in the Group 3 Ming Dynasty Quality Handicap (1400m) at Royal Randwick on Saturday with Montsegur, Champollion and Complacentall included in the nominations.

Montsegur will be having her third start this preparation, after finishing sixth in the Group 3 Quezette Stakes (1100m) and third in the Group 2 Silver Shadow Stakes (1200m), while Champollion and Complacent will be returning to the races for the first time this campaign.

Champollion has not been seen at the races since he finished towards the tail of the field in the Group 1 Champagne Stakes (1600m) but finished second behind Diamond Oasis in a barrier trial at Warwick Farm a fortnight ago.

Lightly-raced Complacent is still searching for his first race win after finishing second in races at Hawkesbury and Warwick Farm during the winter.

The Authorized colt trialed poorly at Warwick Farm on Friday and will need to improve significantly to be competitive at Group 3 level.

Chris Waller included the consistent Vilanova in the 2013 Ming Dynasty Quality Handicap Nominations after he produced a fair first-up effort behind War and Drago in the Group 3 Up And Coming Stakes (1300m) at Warwick Farm on August 24.

The son of Commands has recorded only one win from eight race starts and is still searching for his first victory in Australia but has been placed at Group level on three occasions.

Waller has Champagne Cath in the nominations for the Ming Dynasty as well as the Group 2 Furious Stakes (1200m) while Gerald Ryan-trained Charlie Boy is another dual nominee, with the Danehill Stakes (1200m) at Flemington his other option this Saturday.

Other interesting nominations include Gai Waterhouse-trained duo Aussies Love Sport and Hydro as well as Queensland gelding Teronado.
