The More Than Ready mare headlines the thirteen strong field for the $135,000 race that will be run as race six at 3.30pm (AEST) on the exciting card at Caulfield on Saturday.

Injury and illness has kept Samaready away from the races since she finished fourth behind Elite Elle in the Listed Quezette Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield during her brief 2012 Spring Racing Carnival campaign.

Trainer Mick Price is confident that the four-year-old is ready for a return to the races but he is not expecting a particularly impressive first-up performance.

Another Group 1 winning mare that is set to return to the races for the first time this preparation is Yosei.

The Invincible Spirit six-year-old has gone twenty-two starts without entering the winner circles, with her last race victory coming in the 2011 Group 1 Tattersall’s Tiara (1400m) at Eagle Farm during the 2011 Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival.

Despite her lengthy winning drought Yosei has still performed admirably at the highest level of racing in the last twelve months, finishing in the placings in the Group 1 Toorak Handicap (1600m) at Caulfield and the Group 1 Sangster Classic (1200m).

Team Hawkes-trained Neeson has been allocated the top weight for Theshark.com.au Stakes and will carry 58kg with leading jockey Dwayne Dunn on board.

The Mossman gelding has had just one race start in the last twelve months, finishing second behind She’s Clean in the Listed June Stakes (1200m) at Randwick, but according to Wayne Hawkes is in good condition and will be joined in the field by stablemate Jolie Bay.

Tony McEvoy-trained Pocket Rockets has been in work since March but raced like a fresh horse when he finished a narrow fifth behind Broken in the Listed Carlyon Stakes (1000m) at Moonee Valley last Saturday.

The six-year-old flew home from the back of the field and indicated that he will relish the step back up to 1100 metres this Saturday.
