Set to run as Race 5 at 2:40pm (AEST) as the only black type at the meeting, the $100,000 Listed Civic Stakes (1350m) will feature three runners from premiership winning trainer Waller’s stables.

His top-rated hopeful is Said Com who will carry 55.5kg from barrier six with Nash Rawiller in the saddle.

The O’Reilly four-year-old comes off a win over 1400m at the track from June 15 which was their first victory since August last year.

Waller is now hoping Said Com can back up and return to the form that saw them finish second to Mosheen in the Group 1 Randwick Guineas (1600m) as a three-year-old last March.

Waller’s two other hopefuls are then stakes winning Elusive Quality mare Nocturnelle (barrier four) who will be ridden by Kerrin McEvoy and Brenton Avdulla’s mount Disciple (barrier 7), the God’s Own gelding coming off a very close second at the track and distance when carrying three kilos more than their 54kg for Saturday.

Civic Stakes 2013 weights meanwhile are led by the Paul Messara-trained Mic Mac with 59kg.

The Statue Of Liberty seven-year-old hasn’t done much racing over the past few seasons spending over two and a half years sidelined since the spring of 2011.

They did look in good form at Randwick last month however when fourth to She’s Clean in the Listed June Stakes (1200m) carrying 60kg.

Also heavily weighted on 58kg is the Joe Pride’s dual stakes winner See The World out to improve on their last start 11th to Belltone in the Group 3 BRC Sprint (1350m) at Doomben back in May.

Along with Said Com the only other last start winner in the mix is Gai Waterhouse’s Under The Sun who has drawn to perfection with gate one.

The New Zealand-bred No Excuse Needed four-year-old took out a 1400m benchmark 95 at Randwick on June 8 and should be well suited for another good run on Saturday.

Rounding out the Civic Stakes field are then the Liam Birchley-trained Whateverwhenever (barrier two) last seen finishing fifth to Red Tracer in the Group 1 Tattersall’s Tiara (1400m) and Gerald Ryan’s Queensland Guineas runner-up Dances On Stars (barrier three).
