Howmuchdoyouloveme Tops 2013 Healy Stakes Nominations

Robust sprinter Howmuchdoyouloveme will be out to continue his Queensland success in the Group 3 2013 Healy Stakes (1200m) at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

The four-year-old is one of 22 horses nominated for the $175,000 sprint and will chase a second straight victory after scoring a thumping two-length win in the Lightning Handicap last Saturday week.

Howmuchdoyouloveme is unbeaten in the sunshine state, having recorded two wins at last year’s winter carnival.

A quality mix of locals and southern raiders have been nominated for the Healy, with Adelaide gelding Conservatorium a chance of backing up seven days after his Eye Liner Stakes win at Ipswich.

The Garry Kennewell-trained sprinter broke through for his first win since October 2011 in the Eye Liner after impressive runner-up finishes in the Group 1 Goodwood and the Group 2 QTC Cup.

Darley trainer Peter Snowden is set to have two runners, with both Skytrain and Rarefied expected to step out. But both will have to show dramatic form turnarounds in order to be successful, having produced disappointing unplaced efforts at their most recent outings.

Also with multiple entrants is Queensland’s leading trainer Robert Heathcote who will be hoping one of Gundy Son, Griffon or Funtantes can score success for the stable.

On face value Griffon looks to be the best of the Eagle Farm trainer’s chances after three strong runs this campaign including a narrow last-start third in the QTC Cup.

Another galloper representing the local charge is Sunshine Coast gelding River Lad who won this race last year.

Other horses nominated for the Healy Stakes include Kelso Wood-trained gelding Benny’s Buttons, New Zealand mare Petty Cury and Chris Waller’s Riva De Lago.

When markets open on Saturday’s Tatt’s Tiara day action later this week, bookmaker.com.au is the place to back a winner!
