2013 Eagle Farm Cup Attracts Just Nine Nominations

Just nine horses have nominated for the Group 2 Eagle Farm Cup, which will take place at Eagle Farm Racecourse this Saturday June 1, 2013.

Amongst the nominations is Lights Of Heaven, who will be looking to get her winning Brisbane campaign back on track in the 2013 Eagle Farm Cup.

Lights Of Heaven won the Group 2 Hollindale Stakes at the Gold Coast two starts back, before placing a gallant fifth in the Group 1 Doomben Cup on May 18.

The Zabeel mare has won eight of her 24 race starts and has earned more than $1.57 million in prize money during her career.

Lights Of Heaven is the defending champion for the 2013 Eagle Farm Cup, having won the race by an incredible three lengths last year.

Quintessentialis also one of the nine 2013 Eagle Farm Cup nominations.

The four-year-old won her last start in the Group 3 Chairman’s Handicap at Eagle Farm Racecourse on May 11, 2013.

Quintessential has won five of her 20 race starts in total and has earned more than $560,000 in prize money.

The John Sargent-trained mare won the Group 1 Queensland Oaks on this day 12 months ago as a three-year-old and will be looking to continue her Oaks Day success with a 2013 Eagle Farm Cup victory.

Zabeelionaire, Moriarty and Manighar are also included in the 2013 Eagle Farm Cup nominations.
