In-form Sydney mare Arinosa heads to Doomben on Saturday as a clear favourite for the Group 3 2013 Glenlogan Park Stakes (1350m).
The Chris Waller-trained grey is a $2.10 chance at bookmaker.com.au after some big wins at the Sydney Autumn Carnival.
At her last start the five-year-old beat a quality group of mares by 4 1/2 lengths in the Group 2 Sapphire Stakes.
Waller is confident the good form can continue this weekend and is preparing the exciting galloper for bigger races this winter.
“She is a horse that has developed into a very good mare,” Waller said.
“We are looking at the Stradbroke and Tatt’s Tiara with her and Saturday is another stepping stone towards those races.”
Only three other runners fall under double figures, with Sydney mare Bound To Blush and local hope Risk Aversion both at $8.
Bound To Blush is coming off a fifth-place finish in the Silk Stocking at the Gold Coast but has a strong record of four wins and four minor placings from 10 starts.
Next best in the market is Petty Cury ($9.50) who was fourth in the Silk Stocking.
Prior to that the New Zealand mare showed plenty of zip in her home country with four straight wins.
The Darley operation always have a strong presence at the winter carnival and head trainer Peter Snowden has accepted with three runners in the Glenlogan Park.
Heading his trio is last-start runner-up Babel ($10) who is joined by Classics ($12) and Quidnunc ($13).
Other horses contesting the fillies and mares’ feature include Robert Heathcote’s consistent mare Hidden Kisses ($15) and Group 1 winner Pear Tart ($17).
