An even bunch of three-year-old fillies will line up to contest the Group 3 2013 The Roses (2000m) at Doomben on Saturday which is a traditional Queensland Oaks lead-up.
Heading betting at $2.20 is Kris Lees-trained filly Express Power who is coming off a big Gold Coast Bracelet win.
Next best is Dear Demi ($4.80) who will have to deal with a wide barrier draw as will $6 chance Soapy Star.
In a capacity field there are plenty of chances and others featuring towards the top of betting are Group 2 winner Kazanluk ($9), Pat Carey’s Gondokoro ($10) and Kiwi filly Waterford ($12).

#5 Gondokoro $10
Is coming off a third-place Group 1 finish in the Australian Oaks and on her run probably deserved to finish second. Well drawn in barrier eight, this daughter of Zabeel probably wants a bit further but has a nice bit of class on her side and should get a good run from the barrier.
#4 Express Power $2.20
Tough to leave the favourite out of the top two. Has form behind dominant Australian Oaks winner Royal Descent and was a strong last-start winner in the Gold Coast Bracelet. Perfectly drawn in barrier five and can be in the money again.
#14 Magic In Motion $34
Happy to throw this roughie in for third. Faces a step up in class but has been in strong form leading in, having won her past two starts. Looks on her past runs a filly that will handle the trip and trainer Robert Heathcote is always a big player at carnival time.
