Murwillumbah trainer Matthew Dunn is looking...
Talented filly Dear Demi can add another victory to her impressive resume when she travels to Doomben on Saturday to contest The Roses 2013 (2000m).
Despite being three years old, Dear Demi has shown an ability to handle plenty of racing and has already notched up 20 career starts.
From that she has secured five wins and eight minor placings for more than $1.35 million in prizemoney.
The daughter of Dehere was a Group 1 winner during the spring in the Crown Oaks and is on track to claim her second top-tier success in the 2013 Queensland Oaks (2400m) on June 1.
A consistent performer, the three-year-old has had five starts this preparation for a win and two minor placings.
The major highlight was winning the Group 2 Surround Stakes on March 9 but she has failed to cross the line in front since.
Last seen finishing 10 lengths behind Royal Descent when second in the Australian Oaks, Dear Demi is easily the one to beat this weekend.
The filly is also charged with turning the fortune’s of her managing owner around.
Dear Demi is owned by John Singleton’s Strawberry Stud and he is hoping for some happiness at the end of a much dramatised and publicised stewards enquiry this week.
“Clarry [Conners] sent me a funny video of Dear Demi working in the river at the back of Warwick Farm,” Singleton said.
“I went to see her last week and she looks beautiful.”
Among those taking her on this weekend will be Gold Coast Bracelet winner Express Power and Australian Oaks third placegetter Gondokoro.
