Your Song New 2013 Stradbroke Handicap Betting Favourite

Anthony Cummings’ gun three-year-old Your Song has soared to the top of the 2013 Stradbroke Handicap betting market after his stunning BTC Cup win at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

The three-year-old is now rated a $4 Stradbroke Handicap betting chance after taking out the first Group 1 of the winter carnival by five lengths on Saturday.

It was the Fastnet Rock colt’s first start since October but the writing was on the wall after he trialled impressively earlier this month.

Saturday’s win came on a heavy 9 surface but Cummings is confident his charge can perform at the top grade in any conditions.

“I’ve always thought he would be better on top of the ground,” Cummings said.

Three-year-olds have dominated Australian racing all year and second in the market is Darley-owned colt Epaulette.

The Golden Rose winner resumed with a strong second behind Black Caviar in the TJ Smith but struggled second-up when sixth in the All Aged Stakes in late April.

Queensland’s number on horse Buffering was favourite prior to the weekend’s racing but is now occupying the third line of betting at $8.

The Robert Heathcote-trained sprinter was a well-backed favourite for Saturday’s BTC Cup but bombed the start and never recovered, eventually beaten seven lengths in fourth.

The only other runner under double figures is Peter Moody’s Group 1 winner Moment Of Change who also went under when a short-priced favourite in Saturday’s Goodwood at Morphetville.

Queensland three-year-olds Better Than Ready and Sizzling are expected to be big lightweight Stradbroke hopes and are at $10 and $11 in betting respectively.

Others featuring prominently include BTC Cup runner-up Rain Affair ($12), Gold Coast Guineas winner Academus ($13) and Chris Waller’s in-form mare Arinosa ($15).

Not only that, the Australian-owned bookie are currently offering a huge winter betting boost of a $500 bonus bet offer to new customers who join quoting the code BONUSBET!
