Champagne Classic 2013 – Betting Odds and Tips

All the exciting 2013 Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival action kicks off on Saturday from Eagle Farm and one of the key races on the program is the Group 2 2013 Champagne Classic (1200m).

The race will see 13 juveniles line up and it is a crucial lead-up to bigger races to come such as the Group 2 BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes and the Group 1 JJ Atkins.

Currently heading the betting is at $3.40 is Patinack Farm colt Hooked who is unbeaten from two starts.

Following closely is unraced Kelso Wood-trained colt Into The Red ($5.50) while Bound For Earth ($6) and Octane Flyer ($6.50) are also under double figures.

But the chances don’t stop there. At big odds with good credentials are the likes of Magic Millions fourth placegetter Global Dream ($10) and last-start winner Tints ($31).

  • Has strong form, was second to Hooked last start which was preceded by Doomben win
  • Ideally drawn in barrier four
  • Has won at the distance
  • Proven on dry and wet tracks
