2013 Rowley Mile Day – Hawkesbury Tips

With Group racing in South Australia and Queensland, Hawkesbury has almost been the forgotten meeting this weekend but the track plays host to a quality program.

Included on that program are three black-type races and the Races.com.au form experts are here to help you decide your selections in the Listed 2013 Darley Crown (1300m), the Listed 2013 Rowley Mile (1600m) and the Listed 2013 Hawkesbury Guineas (1400m).

Race 5 – 2:45pm The Darley Crown (1300m)

#2 Dystopia $3.50 to beat #1 Miss Stellabelle $3.20 and #7 Aerobatics $13

Chris Waller-trained mare Dystopia has produced two good runs without a place this campaign but looks well placed here. Was fourth in Group 1 company first-up in the Galaxy before being let go a touch too early in the Group 2 Sapphire Stakes where she again finished fourth. Easier company here and primed for a third-up run to get the result.

Miss Stellabelle is coming off a runner-up finish in the Group 2 Sapphire Stakes and can again feature here while Aerobatics should get in an ideal position from barrier six and be running on.

Race 6 – 3:20pm Rowley Mile (1600m)

#3 Speediness $6.50 to beat #7 Keith’s Legacy $.380 and #5 Moriarty $7.50

Speediness travels up from Melbourne and if he can overcome a tricky barrier 12 draw he looks incredibly well placed. Coming off a Listed win in the Pink Ribbon Cup, the Colin Scott-trained gelding is fourth-up and at full fitness can repeat the result.

Keith’s Legacy has been in outstanding form and chases a third straight win here while the gritty Moriarty drops back in class after running fifth in the Doncaster Prelude.

Race 7 – 4:00pm Hawkesbury Guineas (1400m)

#3 Complicate $4 to beat #7 Limes $9 and #5 Boban $8

Tipping a Darley quinella with Complicate and Limes. Complicate has been in outstanding form this time in with two wins and a second in the Gosford Guineas. Is a winner over the trip. Limes look suited at the distance and can improve off a third-place finish in the SOuth Pacific Classic last start.

Boban can be inconsistent but has plenty of talented and new trainer Chris Waller prepared him for a last-start win. If he settles he can unleash a seriously sharp finish.
