The three-year-old had no problem running out the 2,000 metres in Adelaide, winning the race by a length. Grand Daughter held on to place in second position, while La Zuma passed the post in third place.

Maybe Discreet was paying odds of $7 at to win the 2013 Australasian Oaks, which is also named the 2013 Schweppes Oaks.

Trainer Phillip Stokes found it hard to contain his excitement after Maybe Discreet’s latest race win.

“We put the blinkers back on today,” Stokes said.

“We couldn’t have had her any better today and she proved it,

“She travelled and I knew she’d show a turn of foot.”

Maybe Discreet will now head to the spelling paddock for readying herself for a spring carnival campaign.

“This will be her last start,” the trainer said.

“This was always our goal.

“She’s a Group 2 winner in Melbourne and she stepped up today which is good.”

It was the first group 1 victory for jockey Dom Tourneur, who was riding Maybe Discreet for the first time in today’s 2013 Australasian Oaks.

“This is terrific to get my first Group 1 here,” Tourneur said.

“She’s gutsy, I was always confident she’d get the trip.

“(I) had a bit of luck. Obviously in these races you’ve got to get luck and it came my way today.”

Maybe Discreet has now won four of her 11 race starts and has earned close to $500,000 in prize money during her career.
