New Zealand’s outstanding three-year-old colt It’s A Dundeel is a short-priced favourite to continue his autumn success in the Group 1 2013 Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) at Randwick on Saturday.
The pocket rocket is a $1.40 chance at bookmaker.com.au after starring when taking out Sydney’s 3YO triple crown.
The only other runner under double figures is Chris Waller-trained import Reliable Man ($7.50).
At $11 is BMW second Silent Achiever who is just ahead of last year’s Queen Elizabeth runner-up Manighar ($12).
There’s plenty of Group 1 winners at big prices including Glass Harmonium ($17), Secret Admirer ($26), and Happy Trails ($51).
Others contesting the Queen Elizabeth include Lamasery ($41) and New Zealand mare Zurella ($81).

#9 It’s A Dundeel $1.40
Not quite sure if the $1.40 is a touch short but he certainly looks the winner. Has been outstanding this autumn which was highlighted by a six-length romp in the Australian Derby which he did with still some fuel in the tank. At weight-for-age with 55.5kg he gets 1.5kg off the mares in the race and 3.5kg off the older males. A dual winner at the distance and unbeaten from three starts at Randwick.
#1 Manighar $12
Wind back 12 months and the horse everyone was talking about was Manighar. He’d won three consecutive Group 1s before running second behind More Joyous in this race. He was disappointing to start the autumn but showed promise when running on for fourth in the George Ryder. Top trainer Peter Moody has set him for the race so should be peaking at the right time here.
#7 Secret Admirer $26
This horse frustrates punters as she always shows promise but hasn’t won since October 2011. She’s very capable of running top three and has 14 minor placings to go with her three wins from 26 starts. Was third in this race last year and is running fourth-up this weekend.
