2013 All Aged Stakes – Betting Odds and Tips

It’s been one of the most hyped races all autumn and on Saturday an exciting line up will contest the Group 1 2013 All Aged Stakes (1400m) at Randwick.

The inclusion of glamour colt All Too Hard has the racing world buzzing but at $2.90 the half-brother to Black Caviar is not the favourite.

Owning the top position is the queen of Sydney, More Joyous, who is considered a $2.50 chance to claim an eighth Group 1 this weekend.

The quality doesn’t end there. At $4.60 is Darley-owned colt Epaulette who is coming off a big first-up second behind Black Caviar.

Rain Affair ($14) has been solid in tough races this campaign while also in the field are Rangirangdoo ($17), Fiorente ($21), Smokin’ Joey ($51) and Rolling Pin ($101).

With a close top end of the betting market nobody can blame you if you are struggling to decide on a winner. But don’t worry, the Races.com.au experts have been hard at work studying the form and are ready to bring you our best All Aged Stakes tips.

The Winner

#8 Epaulette $4.60

This Peter Snowden-trained colt ticks a lot of boxes. A minor problem meant he has been a late autumn starter but he didn’t disappoint first-up when flying home in a quality field to finish second behind Black Caviar in the TJ Smith. Snowden is confident 1400m is his best distance and the stats back that up. Has won twice at 1400m including in last year’s Group 1 Golden Rose. There’s good pace in the race which will give him the chance to run on and he’ll be flashing late.

#6 More Joyous $2.50

Absolute superstar of the turf. Ignore last-start fifth as she got blocked for a run. Expect her to bounce back here at a track she has won six from seven starts. She’s never lost over 1400m and her record is simply phenomenal. 21 from 32 with eight Group 1s to her name.

#7 All Too Hard $2.90

Resuming for the first time since February after a “cold” halted his campaign. Was impressive taking out consecutive Group 1s in Melbourne. Slight question mark over his ability to run in the Sydney direction but he returns a more mature and accomplished horse this time.
